Whats your best ever footie team?

I reckon it was Dalgleish's Liverpool in the eighties.

I was in italy when they beat Roma at Rome in the euro final.
I'll never forget how stunned the Italians looked when they got beaten.

I wish I was even alive to witness it but from what I've seen, they seemed like the best and most entertaining football team ever. They beat the second best team in the world (Italy) 4-1 in the final!

I remember watching that on a colour TV, which was a new and expensive technology in 1970.

It blew your eyes away cos you were so used to watching a black-and-white set.

I even cheered England on against W Germany in that world cup.
It was really exciting stuff because in those days things like satellite/long distance hook-ups with live sport half a world away were really rare.

Some events would conk out in mid match because the technology was so new. Then you'd sit and fume until they fixed it a few minutes later and the picture would reappear.


We take these things for granted now.
